About Us
Our goal at Sandcastles Montessori Preschool is to provide an exceptional Montessori Educational program for young children and their families. The Montessori Method of Education is based off the philosophy of Maria Montessori which encourages children to become self-motivated, independent, and caring individuals. The program is child-directed and the classroom is always clean and properly prepared for students to choose materials as they work independently or with their peers. The program is also set up to build self-esteem, develop social skills, and enhance the children's desire to learn.
We are also aligned with and include Rhode Island Early Learning Standards, which are required by the Department of Education, in our curriculum and program planning. Sandcastles Montessori Preschool is approved by the Department of Education and both of our head teachers, Kelly Cardente and Donna Sullivan are Montessori certified.
We strive to create the best possible learning environment for our students and their families as we embrace the Montessori Philosophy.
